Thank you for your university’s interest in our TruForm™ AMbition Grant Program.

Q. When are grant applications due?

A. Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2017.

Q. When will grant recipients be notified?

A. Grant recipients will be notified no later than February 28, 2018.

Q. How do I submit a grant application?

A. Applications must be submitted online. The application form can be found here.

Q. How many grants will be awarded?

A. Praxair Surface Technologies may choose to award multiple grants for 2018. The number of grants awarded will depend upon the scale and scope of selected applicants’ projects and will be determined at the sole discretion of Praxair Surface Technologies.

Q. What is the duration of the grant period?

A. Praxair Surface Technologies will provide materials and support for a period of one year, starting from the date the grant was awarded.

Q. What is the dollar value of a TruForm AMbition Grant?

A. This grant program was designed to be flexible to the needs of applicants. Some projects may require larger amounts of materials and support, others less. Therefore, there is no monetary value cap on the grant. Our goal is to support worthy, innovative projects that helps advance the metal AM industry.

Q. Who is eligible to apply for a TruForm AMbition Grant?

A. The TruForm AMbition Grant is open to AM metal researchers working at accredited colleges and universities in North America. Applications may be submitted by undergraduates, graduate students or instructors. However, applications must be submitted with the permission of the department chair or person in charge of the program.

Q. Can a single institution apply for more than one TruForm AMbition Grant?

A. Yes! Provided that the applications are for distinct projects, we will consider multiple applications from the same college or university.

Q. How will grant recipients be selected?

A. Grants will be awarded at the sole discretion of Praxair Surface Technologies. All applications will be reviewed by a panel of Praxair experts. The panel will look to award grants to those projects with the greatest potential to advance knowledge in the field of metal additive manufacturing.

Q. If my project is selected, what terms or conditions are required to fulfill the grant?

A. If your project is awarded a TruForm AMbition Grant, representatives of the TruForm Team will work with you to determine delivery of the materials and support you need. Praxair Surface Technologies also reserves the right to share information about your institution and project in promotional materials and press releases. Praxair will work with you to ensure any such communications do not reveal sensitive, proprietary or confidential research information.
