An open and shut solution
In the oilfield, gate valves are constantly subjected to high pressures and hostile environmental conditions. To maintain a tight seal when open or closed, the valve stems, seats and gates must be protected from the elements at all times.
Our hard surface LW-45 and GV-50H coatings resist corrosion, erosion, abrasion, sliding wear and galling. To apply them, we use our exclusive detonation gun (D-Gun or Super D-Gun™) or high-velocity oxy fuel (HVOF) systems, keeping the temperature of the part below 300°F / 149°C to avoid distortion and eliminate the need for additional heat treating. Then, we finish the coatings to provide the required sealing surfaces and proper friction coefficients for maximum ease of operation. When wear does eventually occur, we can remove the existing coating and apply a new, protective coating, returning the part to service at less than the total replacement cost.
Our coatings are a cost-effective way to provide excellent metal-to-metal sealing properties and superior resistance to scratching, galling and wear. And they perform well in any temperature range or hostile condition your gate valve will encounter in the field.
